Last post, I explained that my wife and I had just finished watching the penultimate season of Breaking Bad. The previous post was a season recap that probably everyone skipped (fair, I get that) and this post will my analytical observations, or whatever.

As usual, I only throw out Science Fiction and Fantasy #MicroStories. Because I don’t need my parents to get confused if I start writing dramatic relationship Flash Fiction.
HBO recently released an amazing trailer for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones. I’ve seen some analyses of the trailer, and I really wanted to do my own. So now I will.

I’ve also been wanting to talk about the upcoming season in the context of the books (since I’ve read them all.)
So on this post, I will describe the trailer ENTIRELY SPOILER FREE. I’ll just describe what I see.
(To be clear, when I say SPOILER FREE, I mean in regards to upcoming plots. I assume that if you are watching the trailer and reading my analysis, you’re caught up with the show.)
So, the combatants are lined up, heavily armored and helmeted. To the sound of roars and shouts, stamping feet, horns and whistles and all kinds of noise they crash together. And I have no idea who’s who, or what side I want to win.

But that’s because I don’t follow football all that closely. And my team didn’t make the playoffs.
But on Game of Thrones… I know who’s who.

But bizarre as it sounds, occasionally I hear people complaining about Arya. Oh, they don’t complain about Arya the way they do about Sansa. No one seems to find Arya annoying or her story boring. So why am I defending her? What is there to defend?

HBO’s excellent adaptation of George RR Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, Game of Thrones, resumes at the end of March. I am very much looking forward to Season Four.
I occasionally write a Games of Thrones blog post (let’s just call it therapy) and in anticipation of the new season, I’m planning on posting a GoT post every Wednesday until the new season starts. Most people who watch HBO’s Game of Thrones like and sympathize with the Starks (unlike one of my colleagues who is all-in with House Lannister.)
But usually that affection is withheld from the eldest Stark daughter, Sansa. People don’t necessarily want her to die (like they do with Theon) but they find her so annoying. Although in some ways this feeling is justified, but in general I don’t like the amount of hate that Sansa generates and I’d like to respectfully state my case in her defense.
