Hey, I have a new feature article on Watchers on the Wall, talking about Beyond the Wall, the most recent episode of Game of Thrones.

It was a somewhat divisive episode from a critical standpoint, but I found all the action and character moments compelling.

(Spoiler Warning: this post might be a bit of a downer, but I hope to keep it upbeat. You’ll understand.)

Around 9:41 p.m. last night (that would be Wednesday, August 20 2014 for you benighted souls without calendars) emailed me to let me know that my copy of Murder at Avedon Hill, by P.G. Holyfield, had shipped. Awesome.

Roughly one hundred minutes later at 11:20 p.m., the author, P.G. Holyfield, died. (Look, I did say this might be a bummer.)

It’s that wonderful holiday season, and it’s not only Good King Wenceslas who’s in the seasonal mood. Over at the Joffrey of Podcasts podcast, the esteemed Lannister-Loving (Double El) hosts produced an excellent version of the Twelve Days of Christmas, celebrating King Joffrey’s interests, hobbies, and circumstances.

JoffBubba and Catfish were cool enough to let me post the lyrics here. By memory. Hopefully I won’t mess it up, for my sake.
