This post will be talking about Game of Thrones, HBO’s excellent adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, the epic (and as yet unfinished) story from George RR Martin.

I’ll be focusing on the disgraced ex-Maester Qyburn, who is a creepy guy in general. Spoilers ahead.

Qyburn_(S05E03)

Spoilers? Hah! Spoilers are only feared by the ignorant and uneducated.

Defense? You are defending Qyburn? What? (Wait. Qyburn is who again?)

I’ll get into the defense in a moment, but first I’ll provide a quick recap of who this Qyburn guy is.

In Defense of the Freys

This post will be talking about House Frey, from Game of Thrones. If you’ve never read the books or seen the show… House Frey is a minor noble house that’s headed up by the old and crabby Lord Walder Frey. That’s it. Nothing else to see in this post.

Go read the books, or watch the show.

Go on now. Shoo!

walder_frey

Yes. Shouldn’t you be in your Potions Class, and not loitering in my hall, reading blogs? I’ve a mind to tell Professor Snape about this…

Whew. The last thing I want to do is spoil anyone about the Freys.

This post will be talking about plot elements from the fifth season of HBO’s excellent Game of Thrones, an adaptation of George RR Martin’s epic A Song of Ice and Fire. It’s possible that someone not caught up with the show has stumbled across this blog. Hi!

I hate to scare you away, but I’d hate even more to spoil you on any of the details.

High Sparrow: I assume you’re familiar with the holy text of the Faith, the Seven Pointed Star?
Lady Olenna: I keep putting it down. Too much sex and violence for my taste. But don’t spoil me on the ending, I might finish it one day.
High Sparrow: Just don’t get too attached to any of the characters.

Now that I know you’re reading this properly informed, I can continue.

In Defense of Ser Jorah

This post will be talking about Game of Thrones, HBO’s excellent adaptation of George RR Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire.

Specifically, I’ll be talking about the exiled knight Ser Jorah “At Least I Didn’t Take Dad’s Sword” Mormont. So if you’re not current with the show, this post will be spoilery.

Jorah_2x02

I used to protect the Khaleesi from spoilers. We’re talking about poisoners, right?

Ser Jorah has had his ups and downs throughout the seasons of the show, but he’s always been kind of a favorite secondary character of mine.

But not everyone shares my affection for Ser Jorah.

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! I usually only post Game of Thrones-related materials mid-week, but I’m clearly making an exception. Oh, and this post will be spoilery for Season 4 and Season 5 Game of Thrones. You’ve been warned.

Spoilery? Nothing spoils north of the Wall. It’s too cold.

I thought it’d be nice to reminisce about Jon Snow’s first love, his true love, Ygritte the Wildling.

This post will be mentioning plot points from Game of Thrones (with the sixth season of the show looming, looming closer.) So if you’re not up-to-date on the show, this is your spoiler warning.

JonSnowDany

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and even though at this time last year I mostly pointed out that romance is dead in the Seven Kingdoms, I thought it’d be okay to talk about a romance that’s not happening on the show. Since the two characters:

  1. don’t know each other
  2. are separated by miles and miles of land and sea, and
  3. one of them is probably super-dead right now.

But Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen would make such a cute couple! Y’know, he’s all ice, she’s all fire. It’d be like poetry. Or a song.

This post will be discussing various royal characters in the HBO show Game of Thrones. How spoilery could this post be? Probably very. If you are behind on your show watching, let me first call you a clown, and then request that you watch the show and come back.

Margaery

Yes. Do go watch me win.

Game of Thrones takes place primarily in the Seven Kingdoms, where in the show’s early seasons various kings contested for the Iron Throne (while other kings attempted to secede from the multi-kingdom hegemony.) I’ve already talked about those dudes, how few of them bothered to accessorize with crowns, and how most died.

Kings are kind of cool to talk about, I guess, but I don’t want to ignore the many queens in Westeros, who engage in their own power plays.

Arya Stark, Arya Okay?

This post will be talking about my favorite little murder-angel, Arya Stark. This post will also be spoilery if you’re not up-to-date with Game of Thrones on HBO.

arya-stark

Someone’s not current on my adventures? What’s their name? I have a list.

Arya in the Lost and Found

I almost entitled this post Losing Arya because her story is all about relentless loss. Usually she’s losing something or someone close to her.

Or people are losing her.

This post will be discussing two children of Lord Eddard “I love that bastard” Stark and Lady Catelyn “I hate that bastard” Stark.

No, I’m not talking about Stark bastards, I’m talking about two of the legitimate children, Arya and Bran.

ABFlip

Arya: Seven Hells! Sansa’s always been tall!
Bran: She’s like another Hodor.

And as usual, I’ll be spoiling plot points from HBO’s Game of Thrones, so if you’re not caught up, I can’t be held responsible if Arya stabs you in the face with a spoiler. Like she does.

Hodor.

Regarding Reek

This post will be discussing plot details of Game of Thrones, so I respect the opinion of anyone not wanting to be spoiled and wants to stop reading now. (I’ll pretend that it’s fear of spoilers and not my torturous prose that’s sending you away…)

Theon1

“Torturous” prose? Seriously?

Also, I’ll be discussing the Sansa Stark/Theon storyline from season 5. Since Sansa’s situation is a sensitive topic, I wanted to give a heads up on that as well.
