More audio from Con of Thrones 2018 has become available (and helpfully put on YouTube by panelists other than me.)

I’ve included a link to the All That is Gold Does Not Glitter: The Connections Between Lord of the Rings and A Song of Ice and Fire panel’s audio. I was a participant on the panel, along with /r/asoiaf Reddit moderator Matt (aka Joe Magician), Lauren (aka Joanna Lannister on Tumblr) and convention-running Mischief Management bigwig Brad Ausrotas.


The audio for panels presented at Con of Thrones 2018 is being released to presenters! Since I was on six of them, it seems reasonable for me to share at least some of them here on my blog.

On Saturday at the convention, at 10 a.m., I was joined by Professor Priscilla “Percy” Walton, writer Ian Thomas Malone, and /r/asoiaf subreddit moderator Matt (aka Joe Magician) to discuss morality, or as Percy Walton described it – coded ethics – in the relatively uncivilized lands North of the Wall.

It was an honor to present a panel with such learned and thoughtful people.


For those of you who are a few seasons behind on Game of Thrones, this article will be referencing some significant plot points from the later seasons. And will be casting them into a somewhat ‘fictional’ light. (I’ll let my use of the word ‘fictional’ sit there a bit, stewing in its irony.) If you’re not caught up, this has been your spoiler warning.
