Bran Stark: the Fall Guy

We’re finally out of the month of April, so it’s less-than-one-year until the premiere of Season Eight Game of Thrones. It feels like it’s been forever.

The final season will no doubt feature exciting battles and conflict resolutions, but I expect that most of the characters (depending on how fast they get killed off) will be able to hit some narrative beats to bring their over-arching storylines to a satisfying (if possibly bittersweet) conclusion.

Not all of these stories will be happy, and I assume in some cases, rather dark.

Up on the Watchers on the Wall site, I have a feature article discussing young wizard Bran Stark, and why I think his storyline might be unexpectedly sinister. Follow the link below, read the article, and feel free to tell me I’m wrong with righteous indignation:

Bran Stark: the Long Fall

In other news, the second annual Con of Thrones will be happening in Dallas, Texas in a few weeks. If you are coming to the convention, please swing by one of the panels I’m on and say hi. I had an amazing time at last year’s convention.

The long post-convention pre-Season Eight time will be rough. Hopefully I’ll work up some more publishable feature articles for Watchers on the Wall while we wait.

(Comments are always welcome. Super welcome! But if you want to talk spoilery Game of Thrones talk with me (also welcome) I’d invite you to visit my Safe Spoilers page on my backup blog. That way my non-book-reading friends won’t be shocked with foreknowledge.)

Image from Game of Thrones, obviously.

If you liked this article, thank you! I have all of my Game of Thrones related articles on my handy-dandy Game of Thrones page should you want to read more but don’t want to navigate around my site.

I had no idea there was a Con of Thrones in Dallas – something for me to think about in Houston. Where are my dragons?
