Blogging News: Guest Rights and a Guest Writes!

Hey, my fellow blog readers. Coming soon I’ll be having a special Game of Thrones blog post appearing on the site.

People familiar with the series know that when visiting someone in Westeros, don’t get too comfortable until a ritual meal of bread and salt are shared, cementing the sacred guest right. Once a guest and a host have shared this simple meal, it’s understood that neither will harm the other.

Along those lines, I’m announcing that coming soon, I’ll be hosting a Game of Thrones post from my friend Shannon, who writes at Geekly Press. Shannon and I are friends on Facebook, both of us being fans of the Jay and Jack LOST podcast (and their other creative efforts.) She asked if I’d host a (possibly controversial) opinion piece about one of the players on Game of Thrones, and I was delighted to accept. (Now I need to come up with a similar post for her to host on Geekly Press. There’s always some quid pro quo in these things, don’t you know.)

I’m still putting out a new Game of Thrones post every week until the new show starts up; Shannon’s will be in addition to, not replacing one of my usual Tuesday posts. (They come out on Tuesday, even though I tell Twitter about it on Wednesday, for #WesterosWednesday.)

Additionally, in early April I’ll have another Game of Thrones post showing up exclusively on the Comparative Geeks website, run by the excellent bloggers Dave and Holly. I’d give a hint of what it’s about, but that would be telling.

Okay, just wanted to keep people up to date on things. New Game of Thrones post from me tomorrow, and guest post from Shannon coming whenever.

(The image above is to represent a symbolic sharing of bread and salt between the two of us, implying that we’ll not have some kind of blogger-based bloodshed. I guess I could have used an image of a pretzel for this, as well.)

Images from HBO’s Game of Thrones (obviously.)

I make no claim to the images, but some claims to the text. So there.

If you wandered here by accident, hi there! If you are interested in Game of Thrones (and interested in hearing what I have to say about the show) I have all of my articles on a handy-dandy Game of Thrones page should you want to read more but don’t want to navigate around my site.
