Hey everyone, the Watchers on the Wall website accepted another feature article from me, discussing some of the events from the recent episode of Game of Thrones in a historical context. By historical, I mean from the show’s own history.

Yup, Game of Thrones is such a big story, we’re seeing its history repeat itself. Maybe?

But no need to take my word for it. If you’re so inclined, read my article on Watchers on the Wall and judge for yourself:

If you like it, let me know (either here or on their site – it’ll make them happy to see comments on theirs, but I’m more likely to see it here.)

If you don’t like it, it’s cool to let me know as well. (See above for where to leave a comment, that I’ll be guaranteed to see.)

(Comments are always welcome. Super welcome! But if you want to talk spoilery Game of Thrones talk with me (also welcome) I’d invite you to visit my Safe Spoilers page on my backup blog. That way my non-book-reading friends won’t be shocked with foreknowledge.)

Image from Game of Thrones, obviously.

If you liked this article, thank you! I have all of my Game of Thrones related articles on my handy-dandy Game of Thrones page should you want to read more but don’t want to navigate around my site.

I love the parallels in your article- especially as the showmakers are really insistent in comparing Euron to Ramsay Bolton… and Cersei seems to be making her relationship with Jaime public- which might force Euron’s hand with regard to Casterly Rock somewhat…

    • Thank you, I appreciate you telling me this. I’m glad you brought up the Euron/Ramsay thing. It’s one thing for the showrunners to bring that up, but it’s better to find some evidence in the show.

If Euron has similar narrative beats of Ramsay’s then we almost make the connection in our heads without realizing it, which is helpful since they need to kickstart him into villainy at some point.

Thank you again for the feedback!
